Privacy Policy

Marketplace Inbox Assistant is a Chrome extension, with a website and a small server, that helps Facebook Marketplace sellers manage conversations with buyers. This policy explains what it handles, where that goes, and what is kept.
What stays in your browser
These are kept in the extension's storage on your own computer and are not uploaded to us:
- Your knowledge base, FAQ, writing style, listings, private notes, documents and photos.
- Summaries of your conversations, draft replies, and a log of messages sent through the extension.
- The text of conversations the extension has opened, kept so it can learn from past conversations. Up to 500 are kept, newest first.
- Your settings, and a sign-in token that lets the extension use your plan.
Removing the extension deletes all of this. Settings also offers "Clear cached analyses and stored conversations". Automatic backups, if left on, are saved as files in a "Marketplace Inbox Assistant" folder in your Downloads, and are not removed when you uninstall.
What passes through our server
To read a conversation or write a reply, the extension sends a request to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude and returns the answer. A request contains the conversation text, your knowledge base and listing details, and any photos or documents involved. The same happens when you learn from past conversations (with buyers' names left out) or add a listing from photos.
Our server does not store the content of these requests or responses. For each request it records your account, the time, the kind of request, the tokens used and the cost, and, to count conversations against your plan, a one-way fingerprint of the conversation's identifier that cannot be turned back into a name or message.
When you add a listing from photos, a short search phrase for the item, such as its brand and model, is also used to search Facebook Marketplace in a background tab of your own browser, and the web through Anthropic's web search, to find comparable prices.
Your account
You sign in with Google through Firebase Authentication. We receive and keep your email address and a user identifier. We don't receive your Google password.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We keep your Stripe customer identifier, your plan, its status and renewal date, so the extension knows what you've paid for.
What is read from Facebook
On facebook.com and messenger.com, the extension reads the Marketplace conversations and listings visible in your own account, so it can sort them and, when you ask, type a reply into the message box. It reads only these pages and does nothing with the rest of your Facebook account.
Who processes your data
- Anthropic processes conversation content to produce answers, under its commercial terms, which do not allow it to train models on this data.
- Google Firebase hosts the website and server, and stores your account, plan and usage counts.
- Stripe processes payments.
We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Account, plan and usage records are kept while you have an account, and billing records for as long as tax law requires. To delete your account and its records, email support@ideaequity.ai.
Children
The service is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. Material changes will also be announced in the extension.
